Tickets

Buy through the official ticket page. The headline starts at £30; check the selected day and ticket category in the live basket. A transfer function does not mean every private resale is authorised. Avoid social-media screenshots and unsolicited ticket offers. Read the organiser’s transfer and resale conditions first.

Tickets and matching admission to your visit

The DP World Tour's current ticket directory says 2027 Scottish Open tickets are on sale and links to its official ticket platform. Use that route to see the current day prices, age categories and purchase conditions. A full 2027 tariff and all category terms were not readable from the pages accessed for this guide, so compare the actual basket before committing to a particular ticket budget.

Last year's 2026 spectator hub included a Family Day, premium experiences, a digital ticket help section and food and beverage information. These explain the range of ways the previous event could be enjoyed, but choose the 2027 product by its own listed inclusions. A premium area, grandstand place, meal or drinks allowance should be written into the product you buy rather than assumed from its name.

Our suggestion: Thursday and Friday are useful if your priority is seeing a broad selection of golfers before the weekend. A Sunday visit is more focused on the closing contest, while Wednesday may appeal for a less result-driven outing if the offered ticket suits your group. Check junior age limits and companion arrangements before putting the family order through. Keep your booking email and access the ticket system at home; sorting account access at the gate is an avoidable distraction.

Getting there

For Genesis Scottish Open 2027 at The Renaissance Club, plan the station or airport transfer as part of the outward booking. Save both directions. Check the final event approach.

Edinburgh to North Berwick by rail

ScotRail serves the Edinburgh–North Berwick line. The published timetable includes intermediate East Lothian stops such as Musselburgh, Longniddry and Drem, though the stops depend on the service. North Berwick is a useful railway destination for your accommodation and for exploring the town. It is not the same place as The Renaissance Club's tournament entrance.

For last year's 2026 tournament, the official travel information advertised a free shuttle from Longniddry station. The 2027 station shuttle plan has not yet been established in the material checked. Our suggestion: if you are staying in Edinburgh, keep Longniddry in mind when the event publishes its instructions rather than automatically buying a journey to the end of the North Berwick line. The organiser's chosen interchange can be the better course connection.

For visitors staying in North Berwick, last year's official travel page described the existing 124 bus to the main-road stop opposite the Archerfield estate turning, followed by a walk to the main gate. Use that as a previous-edition example and check both the 2027 event instructions and the operator's timetable before relying on the same approach.

Plan the return before the outbound trip. Check whether your accommodation is close enough to Edinburgh Waverley to walk after arrival, or whether you need another bus or taxi. Leave room between a likely course departure and any reserved onward train. For a multi-day stay, compare rail fares across the exact days you intend to travel; a weekend timetable can differ from a weekday one. Request railway assistance separately if needed, and ask the event about the shuttle's boarding arrangements.

Driving, park-and-ride and flying into Scotland

The Renaissance Club is in East Lothian, outside Edinburgh. Driving can work well from a rural property or when travelling as a group, but use the event's temporary traffic plan rather than the club's ordinary entrance. The 2026 official plan offered free public parking and directed ordinary spectators to the signed public car park, with vehicle access to the club itself restricted to valid labels. The final 2027 parking locations, charges, restrictions and shuttle operating hours were not available in the official pages accessed. Do not park in nearby villages on the assumption that you can make your own short walk to the gate.

Last year's East Lothian council travel notice described temporary parking and waiting restrictions around Aberlady, Longniddry and Dirleton. That is a useful reminder that tournament traffic affects the surrounding communities. Our suggestion: follow official spectator signs, buy any required parking through the organiser and make a clear plan for collecting a passenger. A normal satnav destination can take you to the wrong side of a managed event.

Edinburgh Airport is the airport to compare first for an East Lothian holiday. Price the onward journey to your actual accommodation, including whether you need to cross the city before reaching the coast. A hire car can help with rural sightseeing but creates daily parking decisions. If staying centrally in Edinburgh and using rail, compare public transport from the airport before adding a car that will spend most of the trip parked.

On the day

2026 edition, for guidance. Longniddry station used for free ticket-holder shuttle to event entrance, meeting trains to/from Edinburgh. Free public car park; follow yellow AA signs. No spectator vehicles to clubhouse without valid label. Read the official travel instructions. Recheck the 2027 entrance and traffic restrictions before departure.

Taxis and Uber used the public car park only. The 124 bus stopped opposite Archerfield, with an approximately ten-minute walk to the course. Blue Badge parking was in Car Park 2; Event Mobility offered scooter and wheelchair hire. Bicycle parking was in the public car park; bring a lock. Confirmed: 2026 parking and travel.

The last club-to-Longniddry shuttle was 22:00 on Saturday and 21:00 on Sunday; allow for the onward train. Standalone cameras were permitted on Wednesday only, phones had to be silent and only assistance dogs were allowed. Confirmed: 2026 spectator rules.

Dates, format and the week before The Open

The DP World Tour's 2027 schedule confirms The Renaissance Club, North Berwick, for 8–11 July. Its ticket directory gives the wider public ticket week as 7–11 July. Keep the distinction between a Wednesday visit and the four championship rounds clear when booking. The Open at St Andrews follows on 15–18 July, which makes a two-tournament Scottish holiday possible if you arrange the accommodation and travel for each part separately.

The Genesis Scottish Open is jointly sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR. That creates a different feel from an ordinary local club competition: several groups are spread over a large spectator course, and following a leaderboard is part of following the event. Stroke play rewards the lowest total over the tournament; the day's most exciting shot does not necessarily belong to the current leader.

Our suggestion: make this an East Lothian trip in its own right. Pick one coastal base for the Scottish Open, allow a non-golf day after the finish, then move to your St Andrews accommodation. Driving back and forth between both championships would spend much of the holiday in transit. For a single event, two golf days leave space for the beaches, towns and food that make the coast worth exploring.

Spectator routes, viewing and food

Our suggestion: use your first circuit to learn the site rather than trying to follow the leading group from its first shot to its last. Find the nearest toilets, catering and information point, then choose two or three viewing positions connected by an achievable walk. Coastal weather can make stationary spells surprisingly cold even in July. A sheltered break is part of a good day, not time wasted away from the ropes.

The previous 2026 spectator hub linked a course map, food and beverage details, and premium areas including Green on 18 and the Thistle Club. The 2027 locations and inclusions need their own published plan. Do not assume that a view shown in a hospitality photograph is available on an ordinary ticket. Ask a steward about the public route if a path seems to lead into an enclosure.

Quiet and stillness matter once a player is preparing to hit. Cross fairways only under the marshals' instructions and avoid stopping in a crossing to take a photograph. If your group separates, choose a meeting place away from the busiest entrance. Our suggestion: use the leaderboard to decide whether to stay by one green or move to a later hole; constant walking is not the only way to feel involved in the contest.

A day at the event

2026 edition, for guidance. Fan Zone near entrance has Information & Accessibility tent, merchandise, toilets and water refills; range beside clubhouse; putting by first tee. Cashless, contactless only; no cash machine. Backpacks searched; small packed lunch/soft drink allowed, no glass or alcohol; no bag drop. Read the spectator rules.

A suggested sequence for your day

  1. After gates open: clear security and collect the site map.
  2. Check the draw and find the practice range viewing.
  3. Follow an early group or settle beside a favourite hole.
  4. Take food, water and toilet breaks between viewing sessions.
  5. Choose afternoon holes with your return walk in mind.
  6. Leave in time for your booked return connection.

Our suggestion for Scottish Open: start near the practice range if spectator access is open, watch an early group, then settle by a closing hole after a food break. Check the leaderboard before moving. Leave enough time for your booked return.

Getting back to your accommodation

The 2026 rail gateway was Longniddry, not North Berwick. A train arriving there is useful only if the course shuttle is still running; an Edinburgh return also needs a suitable onward service. For Gullane or Haddington accommodation, arrange the last road or bus leg separately. The final 2027 transport plan remains unpublished. Pre-book a permitted taxi collection if your return ends at a rural property, and keep enough energy for the exit walk.

2026 edition, for guidance

The published Wednesday course-to-Longniddry last bus was 19:00; Thursday’s was 21:05. These departures do not establish the 2027 shuttle timetable or a final train to Edinburgh.

Where to stay: North Berwick and Gullane

Our suggestion: North Berwick suits visitors who want the seaside to be part of every evening. Compare the position of a room against the railway station, town centre and your planned local transfer. A coastal address can cover a wide area, so read the map rather than relying on the town name in the listing. Ask about breakfast before early golf departures and about leaving luggage if you arrive before check-in.

Gullane is an alternative for visitors drawn to the golf coast itself. It is a useful place to compare for a shorter road transfer, subject to the event's final access plan. Our suggestion: choose it when you would enjoy a village-based stay and have settled how you will reach the spectator gate. Being in the general neighbourhood does not establish that an entrance is safely walkable or that you may cross club land.

For either base, look at cancellation and prepayment conditions before booking several nights. Apartments can suit a group wanting breakfast and a simple supper at home; a serviced room can suit a shorter stay with less organisation. Check the sleeping arrangements carefully if sharing. Avoid comparing a one-bedroom property with an apparently similar listing that expects someone to use a sofa bed in the living room.

Where to stay: Dunbar and Haddington

Our suggestion: Dunbar is worth comparing if you want a coastal town with its own identity beyond the golf. It is on East Lothian's rail network, but a train into the region still needs to fit the tournament's final connection. Work backwards from the entrance you will use and check whether a road transfer or a combination of trains and shuttle makes sense. Do that for each day rather than assuming Sunday's services match Thursday's.

Haddington gives an inland alternative. Choose it for the whole holiday arrangement: the room, your vehicle or transfer and the kind of evening you want. Do not count on a direct rail station in the town for the course journey. East Coast Buses publishes regional services including links with North Berwick, but the stop, timetable and subsequent access to the event need to be checked for the date you travel.

These two bases can be useful when the immediate North Berwick and Gullane search does not suit your party. Our suggestion: compare a realistic daily transport allowance alongside each accommodation quote. For three people attending four days, a slightly dearer room with a simpler transfer may be preferable to organising repeated individual journeys. If someone is not attending the golf, make sure they are not left dependent on a car that leaves early each morning.

Where to stay: Musselburgh and Edinburgh

Our suggestion: Musselburgh suits a stay between the city and the East Lothian coast. Check the property's distance from the railway station and the route you would take to the event interchange. The town name on a booking search is not enough to establish a convenient rail trip. A room with straightforward parking may suit drivers; a room close to a station may matter more if you plan to leave the car behind.

Edinburgh is the city-break option. It gives your party a different kind of evening and can work well for travellers arriving by rail or air. Compare the accommodation's position against Waverley, rather than choosing somewhere on the opposite side of the city simply because it is described as central. Your daily travel has at least two parts: getting to the departure station and completing the connection at the coast.

Our suggestion: keep the same base throughout your Scottish Open days. Repeated check-outs and luggage moves can eat into the time you intended to spend outdoors. If you are adding The Open the following week, reserve the Fife section separately and leave a sensible transfer day. Look for accommodation terms that make changing one part of the trip possible without unravelling every booking.

Make a weekend of it

Evenings along the golf coast

Visit East Lothian's official tourism information describes North Berwick, Gullane and Dunbar as coastal communities and Haddington as an inland historic centre. Our suggestion: use that variety to shape the non-golf half of the holiday. A seafront walk and an uncomplicated meal can be enough after several hours on your feet. Save the more ambitious sightseeing for a day without a tournament ticket.

East Coast Buses publishes services linking towns across the region, including North Berwick with Dunbar and Haddington. Use the operator's current timetable if planning an evening away from your accommodation. The last bus can determine whether dinner elsewhere is sensible. A pre-booked return taxi may be another option, but confirm the fare and collection location with the operator instead of assuming you can find one immediately after closing time.

In Edinburgh, choose an evening near your accommodation after a long rail-and-shuttle day. Our suggestion: make any restaurant reservation late enough to absorb a slower exit from the course. If you want to watch the final group, do not commit to a dinner time that requires leaving the championship early. Groups with children should have a simpler food plan available before tiredness makes every decision harder.

North Berwick: food and drink

  • The Rocketeer — A restaurant at the entrance to the harbour.
  • Osteria — A small Italian restaurant.
  • Herringbone — Seasonal food with craft beer and wine.

Accessibility and families

The organiser’s 2026 accessibility page includes a visual story and Blue Badge drop-off procedures. Use it as previous-edition guidance, then confirm the Renaissance Club’s 2027 accessible route, mobility booking and companion arrangements. A nearby North Berwick room still needs an appropriate final journey to the event.

Official accessibility / event contact information

Packing, phones and accessible visits

Our suggestion: prepare for sun, wind and rain in the same bag. Bring waterproof outerwear, a warm layer, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and a hat that will stay on in the breeze. Keep your phone charged for tickets and transport, and put a power bank and charging cable inside a dry pouch. Read the 2027 ground regulations for camera equipment, bag sizes, seats, food and drink before packing those items.

The official 2026 hub provided an accessibility section and digital-ticket instructions. Use the 2027 event contact to ask about accessible parking, shuttle boarding, companion admission, mobility equipment and viewing areas before buying non-refundable travel. Describe any difficulty with grass, gradients or long walks. Ask about the route from arrival to the platform as well as the platform itself.

Accommodation needs a separate conversation. Request specific bathroom, entrance and lift details from the property, and check how a taxi or accessible vehicle can reach it. If using ScotRail, arrange Passenger Assist for the railway portion and confirm the station facilities. Our suggestion: choose a shorter, simpler daily route even if it means a less central room. Reducing the number of transfers can matter more than reducing the distance shown on a map.
