Dun Laoghaire Golf Club is near Enniskerry, away from the town whose name it carries.
The course is at Ballyman Glen, not in the harbour town
The first accommodation decision for the KPMG Women's Irish Open is geographical. Dun Laoghaire Golf Club's own directions place it at Ballyman Glen, near Enniskerry, on the Dublin–Wicklow border. Booking a room in Dún Laoghaire therefore does not establish a walk to the tournament. Our suggestion: start by comparing Bray and Enniskerry with the course approach in mind, then widen the search along the coast or into Dublin if that suits your holiday.
The wider event week is 2–8 August 2027, with championship rounds confirmed for 5–8 August. Match your nights to the specific attendance days you book and confirm the spectator schedule through the event hub. Whether you choose coast, village or city, the final road connection needs planning. A DART train can bring you to a useful coastal base, but it does not reach the golf entrance. Compare the whole journey from the accommodation, including parking or transfer, the controlled event approach, security and walking to a viewing position.
Bray: our first coastal comparison for the venue
Bray is our suggestion for visitors who want a coastal town base while staying in the broader area of the golf club. Irish Rail supplies official information for Bray Daly station, allowing you to plan a railway arrival from Dublin. Choose accommodation around the transport connection you will use for the tournament rather than assuming a station-adjacent room automatically solves the day. The onward journey to Ballyman Glen still requires a suitable road or published spectator connection.
Ask the provider about parking, breakfast and late check-in if your arrival is after work or a flight. For a family stay, confirm the bed arrangement and whether there is space to rest between attendance days. If non-golf companions remain in Bray, discuss whether they keep the car or use other transport. Our suggestion: make the golf-day pickup and return collection explicit before accepting restrictive accommodation terms. A property can work very well for a coastal holiday while needing more travel effort than your group wants for several early tournament starts.

Enniskerry: choose the actual road connection
Enniskerry is a logical search because the golf club itself uses the name in its address and directions. Our suggestion: investigate it when a village base appeals and you can arrange the final movement to the championship. Proximity should be judged against the permitted entrance and the route available to spectators, not a straight-line distance. Do not assume you can walk an approach road simply because a map shows the property near the course.
For accommodation, check how you will collect keys, where vehicles can stand and whether early breakfast or a kitchen is available. A rental described as near Enniskerry can sit outside the village, changing the need for a car. Ask for the precise address before paying and assess access with luggage. Visitors wanting quieter evenings may like the idea of a village stay, but confirm nearby meal options for the nights you need. If you plan to use taxis, obtain a return arrangement and clarify the event collection point once the organiser publishes its instructions.
Dún Laoghaire: a coastal stay with a separate golf transfer
Dún Laoghaire suits visitors who want to base the wider trip by the coast and use the Dublin railway network for other days. Irish Rail includes Dún Laoghaire Mallin in its DART and commuter information. Our suggestion: choose it for those wider advantages, with a deliberate plan for reaching the club at Ballyman Glen. The shared name can otherwise make the accommodation appear far more course-adjacent than it is.
For golf, arrange a road connection to the designated arrival point or assemble an operator-supported route through a suitable interchange and final transfer. Check the morning and evening versions separately. A room near the station can be useful for city outings but may be less important than an easy vehicle pickup for the tournament. If your party splits, make sure both groups have an independent plan. Keep the returning golfers' dinner flexible and avoid scheduling another long outing immediately afterwards. For several attendance days, compare Bray or Enniskerry too before deciding the coastal setting outweighs the repeated journey.
Dalkey: pick it for the stay, then solve the course journey
Dalkey provides another coastal option on the DART network. Our suggestion: compare it if you would enjoy staying there for the wider holiday and you have a workable onward connection to the tournament. Check the precise address, the route with luggage and where your vehicle can collect you. A location close to a coastal railway station may help with Dublin activities while still leaving a separate road leg to Ballyman Glen.
Calculate the full daily cost for all travellers, including local fares or transfers, before comparing room rates with Bray or Enniskerry. For a family or a group of friends, a convenient shared vehicle can change that calculation, but the return pickup needs agreement. Ask whether the driver can use the event's designated collection point and how you will make contact after play. If relying on public transport for part of the journey, use the official planner for your specific date and give yourself a comfortable margin rather than building the day around the last possible return.
Dublin city: best when the city is a real part of the break
Dublin is our suggestion for a mixed itinerary in which the Women's Irish Open occupies only part of the holiday. It can give non-golf companions independent plans, but the course journey must be treated as a proper excursion. Choose the accommodation around the station, vehicle pickup or other departure point you will actually use. A convenient airport arrival or a central evening location does not automatically make the early golf start straightforward.
If using the DART network towards Bray or another coastal point, confirm the final connection from there to the event before booking a room around the railway alone. If driving or hiring a transfer, follow the championship arrival instructions once published rather than ordinary club directions. For repeated attendance, compare the cumulative travel with a stay nearer the venue. Discuss whether everybody wants the same number of golf days. A city base makes most sense when its extra journey is balanced by activities and convenience that the whole party genuinely intends to use.
Booking terms and the right number of nights
Search accommodation for your actual attendance plan, including a night before the first early start if necessary. Our suggestion: hold clear cancellation terms while finalising transport, reading the deadline and payment schedule in the accepted rate. Do not assume a tournament ticket policy applies to a separately booked room. Keep confirmation of the address, occupancy, beds and arrival arrangements, particularly for a shared rental managed by one member of the group.
Compare the total with breakfast, parking, transfers and any required luggage storage included. A farther room is not automatically economical once the daily journey is priced for several people. Ask whether the property can accommodate your children's ages or access requirements before paying. If a provider has not yet released rooms for your dates, ask about its booking horizon rather than concluding that no accommodation will be available. Avoid changing bases during a short tournament stay unless the gain clearly outweighs packing, checking out and organising your bags while you would prefer to be watching golf.
Families, accessibility and the return after play
For families, prioritise practical space and easy meals. Check actual bed types, kitchen equipment and whether adults can remain awake without disturbing sleeping children. A shorter first golf day may suit new spectators better than an ambitious programme of early starts. Decide whether one adult can return independently if needed, with room keys and transport arranged. Somewhere to dry outdoor clothes and shoes can make successive days noticeably more comfortable.
For access requirements, request specific details about entrances, bathrooms and lifts, then assess the route to the vehicle or station. Contact the organiser for championship viewing and transport arrangements; a suitable room does not by itself establish an accessible course journey. Save the important contacts and return options offline before leaving each morning. Read the Women's Irish Open hub, Dun Laoghaire Golf Club guide and our practical guides while comparing accommodation. The successful booking joins the room, the local journey and the golf into one comfortable day.
